We’ve been really busy lately. Some things we’d rather not do (and are cutting out), but other things have been a lot of fun. We’re YMCA members now so they kids just finished their fourth swimming class a couple weeks ago and are excited about swimming this summer. We just made a trip to St. Louis to see Steven Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith at Church Of The Rock and hit the zoo and Union Station while we were there. It was a really fun time.

Our goal right now is to get a little more margin built into our schedule so we aren’t always running from one task to another. It’s just so easy to add one more thing.

Also, we’ve been doing the Facebook/Twitter things now so find us on there if you want.

The past few weeks have been crazy. I don’t want to let the blog go too long without updating it in case somebody is reading it so here’s what’s been going on.

We are mostly settled in the house. We had plans to get a lot done over the week of Christmas because we were both taking the week of. It’s kind of a pain holding back the time all year to do it, but it’s worth it for that week together. During that week my Grandpa passed away, the radiator in the van blew up, on the way home from picking it up a guy hit us, etc. I don’t want to make it all negative because, although there was a lot of painful stuff that week, it was nice that we had already planned to have that time off. That let us make it to the hospital a lot and get the other things done without the added stress of trying to arrange time to get it in.

Some good things: Mom and Dad Kennedy came to visit us for a few days after Christmas, our friends Rusty and Mary in Las Vegas just had their first child, and we were able to spend a lot of time with family over the holiday time.

We have everything moved over and are in the middle of unpacking. The closing on the other house will happen Monday so we have to clean everything up really well and meet the carpet cleaners on Saturday before handing the keys over.

When we came in the new house there was a tin of cookies and a nice card from the Erdel’s, the previous owners. She also had left a trash bag and a couple of dishwasher tabs under the sink. That was really nice. We didn’t talk to them much, but they seem like incredible people from what we did see of them.

Today Diane met one of the neighbors while she was packing the kids up for school. While they were talking the lady asked if she worked and if she did every day. She said that everybody wants to know who should be home during the day so they can keep their eye on everyone’s houses. I love it here.
